The duet performed at the Playhouse last year to a full house and we are delighted to engage them for another opportunity to appreciate their magnificent performance of:

With a modern twist on a traditional genre, Katzenjammer are a piano duo with a difference! They will dazzle you with their own arrangements of Tom & Jerry-inspired Liszt, an explosive Tchaikovsky, and they will have you laughing as they marry together your favourite classics with your top-10 pub tunes!  With the resulting tangle of hands and arms, the keyboard is projected onto a large screen so that the mesmerising gymnastic display of their playing can be marvelled at.

Suffolk Poetry is a Society of 130 Poets and poetry lovers.

Shubertaid was the name given to those intimate Viennese evenings when Franz Schubert made music with his artistic friends. Join us to recapture the spirit of those times and hear original works read by the authors then set to music by pianist Holger Aston.

Holger Aston read Modern Languages at Oxford before winning a scholarship to continue his musical studies at the Guildhall. His piano teachers have included John York, Craig Sheppard and Yonty Solomon. He also twice won a scholarship to study with the Russian pianist Alexander Satz in Vienna. Holger was Director of Music at St. Anselms's and Cecelia's Kingsway 2002 – 2004 and is a regular performer with the Lecosaldi Ensemble. He is known in this region as a regular soloist at the East Anglian International Music Festival and through previous appearances with Suffolk Poetry.

Award winning guitarist MARTIN TAYLOR has established a unique musical career as an internationally acclaimed musician, and his inimitable style has seen him recognised as the world's foremost exponent of solo jazz guitar playing.

As well as his solo concerts and recordings, he has also collaborated with musicians from many different musical genre including, Stephane Grappelli, Chet Atkins, Bill Wyman, George Harrison, Dionne Warwick, Sacha Distel,  Bryn Terfel and Jamie Cullum. From 1979 to 1990 he toured the world and recorded over 20 albums with the French jazz violin legend STEPHANE GRAPPELLI. Their album with Vassar Clements "Together At Last" won a Grammy Nomination in 1987.

The collaboration was launched with great success in November 2001 with a concert in the NTL Studio as part of the Belfast Festival at Queen's. Stott and Ogawa have given individual concerto and recital performances to outstanding critical acclaim at the world’s most prestigious venues, and have been able to combine their wide-ranging knowledge of the repertoire to create varied programmes

Alison returns to the Old Granary with David Newton a highly respected pianist who has worked with the finest vocalists and instrumentalists in jazz and Chris Hill on bass.

Surrounded by the surfeit of little girl voices prevalent in jazz today, it's almost a relief to encounter a mature but flexible voice like Alison Burns. Beyond the vocal quality is imaginative delivery and interpretation that comes from experience in life as well as performance. The way she weighs and colours the lyrics in her singing place her in rare company. At home in any setting, from festival and theatre stages to small, intimate venues, Alison Burns never fails to touch the audience with her soul-stirring performances. The concert will fearure a range of jazz standards old and new.

To round off the season in a true party atmosphere please do join us for a post concert buffet supper after the concert at 9.15pm
